Richard Stanley Thorp (2 January 1932 – 22 May 2013) was an English actor. He was best known for his 30-year tenure portraying Alan Turner in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale from 1982 to 2013. He also appeared in films such as The Dam Busters (1955) and The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1957).

Richard Thorpe (24 Şubat 1896 — 1 Mayıs 1991) Amerikalı film yönetmeni, senarist ve aktör.
Kariyerine sanatta, vodvilde ve tiyatro sahnesinde sahne alarak başladı. 1921'den itibaren oyuncu olarak filmlerde rol aldı. 1923'te ilk sessiz filmini çekti. 1930'dan itibaren Chesterfield Pictures için, ardından Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer için çalıştı. 1967'de sinema endüstrisinden emekli oldu.
Dramalar, komediler, westernler, melodramlar, kostüm ve macera filmleri ve Tarzan serisinden birkaç film dahil olmak üzere toplamda yüz seksenden fazla film çekti.
