Rose Seidler House is a modern two-storey, 12 room house sited on one hectare (two point five acres) of suburban bushland with intact gardens. The house is constructed of four basic materials; natural bush stone, reinforced concrete, timber and glass. Built in 1949-1950 in the International modernist style, it was futuristic and modern for Australia at that time, and is an outstanding example of mid-century-modern domestic architecture.
