Established in 1994, the Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines tells the story of Taiwan’s Indigenous ethnic groups, who, throughout the country’s history, were often forced to assimilate and risked losing their cultural identities. Today, the museum showcases historical crafts, works by contemporary indigenous artists, objects related to agriculture and religion, and many other displays, all with the aim of shining a light on an overlooked part of the island’s history and identity.
