  • St Georges Church is the oldest Anglican Church in South East Asia and was constructed between 1817 and 1818 and formally sanctified on 11th May 1819 by the Bishop of Calcutta, the Rt Rev Thomas F Middleton. During World War II the church was badly damaged by one of the many Japanese air raids on Penang Island.
