Macaristan’ın başkenti Budapeşte’de bulunan Gül Baba Türbesi, bu ülkede 150 yıl süren Türk egemenliğinin en önemli anıtlarından biri.
Hayatını Evliya Çelebi’den öğrendiğimiz Gül Baba, 16. yüzyılda yaşamış Merzifonlu bir Bektaşi dervişidir. 1526’da Kanunî Sultan Süleyman’ın daveti üzerine Budin seferine katılmış, 1531’de Budin’e gelmiş, 10 yıl burada yaşamış ve 1541’de vefat etmiştir.
1540’larda inşa edilen türbesi, 1686’da Katolik Kilisesi’ne çevrildi. 1885’de türbe olarak restore edilen yapı, 1914, 1963 ve 2005’te de bakım gördü. En son restorasyonu 2018’de TİKA tarafından yapılan Gül Baba türbesi, yanında inşa edilen bir müze ile birlikte ziyaretçilere açıldı.
