The mosque is located southwest of Medina, 2300 meters from the Holy Mosque and 900 meters from the Quba Mosque. It was built in the first year of Hijri (corresponding to 622 A.D.), demolished and rebuilt several times; most recently in 1412 Hijri, when it reached an area of 700 m2.
