The Basilica of the Holy Rosary and the St. Dominic Convent dates back to the mid-18th Century. Building of the present church started in 1751, designed by architect Antonio Masella though the Dominican Order had arrived in the city in the 17th Century. The church was declared a basilica in 1909.
