The Church of Hosios David, also known as Latomos Monastery was built in the late 5th-century. It is embellished with rich mosaic and fresco decorations that were restored between the 12th and 14th centuries. Like most other churches in Thessaloniki, the church of Hosios David was converted into a mosque under Ottoman rule before being reconsecrated in 1921.
