The majestic Transfiguration Cathedral was built in the style of high classicism in 1851 according to the design of a group of St. Petersburg architects led by A. Melnikov. The temple is adjacent to a 94-meter bell tower with Baroque elements built earlier in 1804. Next to the bell tower there is a cross over the grave of the most famous 19th century preacher, cathedral archpriest Rodion Putyatin.
