Bugünkü Rusya'ya bağlı Dağıstan'da yer alan tarihi bir şehirdir. Şehrin tarihi yapıları 2003 yılında UNESCO tarafından Dünya Mirası olarak ilan edilmiştir. Hudûd el-âlem min el-maşrik ila el-mağrib adındaki el yazması kitapta Derbent'i "Kapıların kapısı" anlamına gelen Bâb el-Abvâb olarak isimlendirir.
