National Museum is also known as National Museum of India located at Rajpath Crossing Janpath, New Delhi. It was first established in 1949 at Rashtrapati Bhavan and inaugurated on 15th August 1949. The foundation stone of the current building was laid on 12 May 1955 by Prime minister Jwahar Lal Nehru and first was completed and opened for public on 18 December 1960.
