Piperasilin, üreidopenisilin sınıfından geniş spektrumlu bir β-laktam antibiyotiktir.
Piperasilin ve diğer üreidopenisilinlerin kimyasal yapısı, Gram-negatif bakterilere penetrasyonu artıran ve Gram-negatif beta laktamaz enzimleri tarafından bölünmeye duyarlılığı azaltan bir polar yan zincir içerir. Bu özellikler, önemli hastane patojeni Pseudomonas Aeruginosaʼya karşı aktivite sağlar. Bu nedenle piperasilin bazen «anti-psödomonal penisilin» olarak adlandırılır.
