Segedin, ya da Macarca Szeged, Macaristan'ın Csongrád ilinde bulunan ülkenin en büyük üçüncü şehridir.
Bölgesel merkez olan şehirdeki, Szeged Üniversitesi; Macaristan'ın önemli üniversitelerinden biridir.
Şehrin ismi eski Macarcada köşe anlamına gelen «Szeg» kelimesinden türediği söylenmektedir. Çünkü Tisza Nehri şehri tüm köşelerinden çevrelemektedir. Buradan hareketle Macarcada ada anlamına gelen «Sziget» kelimesinden de türemiş olabilir.
Bugün Segedin, önemli bir üniversite kenti ve popüler bir turistik yeridir.
