Future funk is a genre of music that combines elements of disco, funk, and electronic music. It is characterized by a strong beat, often with a four-on-the-floor drum pattern, synth basslines, and occasional vocals.
The genre began to emerge in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with pioneers such as Giorgio Moroder, who produced the influential disco hit “I Feel Love”, and Afrika Bambaataa, who released the groundbreaking hip-hop track “Planet Rock”.
