  • A spread-spectrum signal is a signal that occupies a bandwidth that is much larger than necessary to the extent that the occupied bandwidth is independent of the bandwidth of the input-data. With this technique, a narrowband signal such as a sequence of zeros and ones is spread across a given frequency spectrum, resulting in a broader or wideband signal.
