It was officially opened when its altar was laid on June 6, 1714, and was renovated in the 19th century, around the time the second belltower was built.
Located in the city center of Xian, the belltowercan be easily found on the map at the intersection of four main avenues of east, west, south and north.
So, today the belltower is just a little bit below the church - 30 meters high and there is a wonderful view of the Kizhi surroundings from the belfry.
