The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) is a public research university located in the city of Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Founded in 1927, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Brazil. UFMG is known for its strong focus on research and has a number of centers and institutes dedicated to a wide range of fields, including engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and health sciences.
