The Naval Museum of Monaco was established in 1993, in the historic building of the Palace of the Sea, also known as the “Hercule Gallery”. This building was constructed in 1910 by Prince Albert I of Monaco, a renowned oceanographer and pioneer of marine research. The palace was originally built to house the Museum of Oceanography, which is located in a separate building nearby.
