It was founded in 1982 and is dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of modern and contemporary art. MACRO is located in a historic building that was once the former headquarters of the National Bank of the Republic of Argentina. The museum features a permanent collection of more than 1,500 works by Argentine and international artists, as well as temporary exhibitions, educational programs and workshops.
