The British Commonwealth of Nations is a group of 56 countries that were, for the most part, formerly part of the British Empire. It is made up of large, small, and island states with diverse cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds. With the exception of Mozambique and Rwanda, all member countries are former or current British colonies or dependencies.
