The cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima erected in Karaganda and opened in September 2012, is the biggest cathedral in Central Asia. Many countries helped build it and donations have been received not only from Kazakhstan but also from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, America and even South Africa.
