Shanghai State University (official name – Shanghai University, Chinese traditional – 上海 大学, abbreviated – SNU) is one of the five largest institutions of higher education in Shanghai, which differ in the variety of disciplines provided. Shanghai SNU is a permanent participant in international research programs for the active development of domestic and foreign economic base. In China itself, the institution is better known as “Shanda”.
