The first professional theater was established in Brest in August 1940. It was called the Brest regional Russian drama theatre, however, the war interrupted so brilliant theater season started. Immediately after the liberation of Brest from fascist invaders, in October 1944 it was decided to create the Russian State youth drama theatre named after Lenin Komsomol of Belarus in Brest.
