The British Commonwealth is an organization that was formed in 1931 after the adoption of the Statute of Westminster by Britain. It consists of 54 sovereign states, mostly former territories that were once part of the British Empire. Some notable members include Australia, Canada, India, Jamaica, New Zealand and Uganda.
