Vitebsk Regional Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union M. F. Shmyreva was opened on July 5, 1969 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The exposition of the museum tells about the life and work of the legendary partisan commander Batka Minay (Minnaya Filippovich Shmyreva).
