"The Pardoner's Tale" (written in the original Middle English as "The Pardoners Tale" without an apostrophe) is a short story in verse from The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. The tale takes the form of a religious fable which warns of the dangers of sin. The plot concerns three wicked young men who want to avenge the death of their friend by killing Death himself.
