Polonya'nın kuzeyinde, Baltık Denizi kıyısında kalan bir deniz kıyısı kasabasıdır. Yaklaşık 40.bin nüfusa sahiptir. 1999'a kadar Gdańsk bölgesine bağlıyken, daha sonrasında ayrı bir bölge olarak kabul edilmiştir. Gdansk, Gdynia ve Sopot bir araya getirilerek "Trójmiasto" adında bir metropolitan bölge ilan edilmiştir.
