Özellikle 16. yüzyıl Avrupa'sındaki Amişler, Hutteritler ve Mennonitler bu gruba girmektedir.
Anabaptistler yüzük takmak, yemin etmek, devlet memuru olmak gibi Hristiyanlığın normal ögelerini reddederler. Bu inançları yüzünden Avrupa'da hem Protestanlar hem de Katolikler tarafından dışlanmışlardır.
Bazıları ABD'ye göç ederek Ohio, Pensilvanya gibi eyaletlerde yerleşmişlerdir. Bu göçmenlerin soyundan gelen bazı gruplar günümüzde de bu inançlarını devam ettirmektedirler.
