Ve Matteo Polo, Venedikli tüccar ve kâşifler. Niccolò kendisi gibi kâşif olan ünlü gezgin Marco Polo'nun babasıdır. Niccolò kardeşi Matteo Polo ile birlikte çalışmıştır. Kardeşi ile birlikte İstanbul, Sudak ve Moğol İmparatorluğu'nun batı kısmında ticaret anlaşmaları yapmışlardır.
