The largest church in Heidelberg, the Church of the Holy Spirit has a fascinating history. It was built between the 14th and 16th centuries and was originally a Roman Catholic church, but the church has changed denominations more than ten times throughout its history! Off and on, during 300 years of it's history, the main nave was split buy a wall, allowing both Catholics and Protestants to practice in the church at the same time.
