Regional Museum of Messina was founded in 1914 in a former silk weaving factory, located on the coastal road from Messina to the lighthouse. The museum houses a collection of the City Museum peloritantsev, as well as a huge number of objects recovered from the ruins of palaces and churches that were destroyed during an earthquake in 1908 and during World War II.
