The University of Edinburgh is a public institution that was founded in 1583. It is spread across five campuses in Edinburgh, Scotland – the capital and one of the country's largest cities. The university's Central Area Campus contains the main administrative buildings and library as well as humanities and social science facilities. The other sites are the King’s Buildings, Easter Bush, Little France and Western General Hospital campuses.
