Amerikalı Colt firması tarafından geliştirilmiş M16 piyade tüfeğinin Karabina versiyonudur. STANAG şarjörleri 5.56x45mm NATO mermisi kullanmaktadır. Gaz işleme ve geri tepme tekniğini kullanarak çalışır. Kişiye göre ayarlanabilir dipçiğe sahiptir.
