The first computer was invented in the 1940s by a team of scientists and engineers. The machine was called the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC). It was developed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert at the University of Pennsylvania.
The ENIAC was the world’s first electronic, programmable computer. It was an immense machine, taking up over 1,800 square feet of floor space and weighing more than 30 tons.
